Lin Bei, a food delivery rider, is dragged into a rule-based horror world by a sinister security door mid-delivery. He regains consciousness in the Blood-red Exam Hall dungeon, where an iron rule is posted: No looking up during the exam. When a man who defies the rule instantly drops dead with a snapped neck, terror consumes everyone present. By a stroke of luck, Lin Bei binds with the Rule Analysis System, which can dissect textual loopholes in every rule and map out safe boundaries. The exam paper is covered in unidentifiable, uncanny symbols — putting pen to paper counts as a wrong answer and carries an immediate death sentence. Spotting the loophole that answering is never mandatory, Lin Bei hands in a blank sheet to create a logical contradiction in the rule system, and clears the dungeon unscathed. Outside the exam hall, he finds the entire city trapped under a dark red dome, with dozens of horror dungeons scattered across it. Every challenger must collect all 22 Major Arcana tarot cards to escape; anyone who fails before the countdown ends will be completely erased from existence. Along his journey, Lin Bei teams up with Su Wan, a student with a Crisis Warning System, and Uncle Chen, a middle-aged man with a Power Amplification System. Together, they conquer two dungeons back-to-back: the Rulebound Supermarket and the Rulebound Library.
